This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!  Please help support our efforts by bringing in and collecting any used markers you may have – even non-Crayola brands. 8.     Here are your Phantom Fun Facts for today:

The set and costume designer is Maria Bjornson. She was very inventive and used the weight and texture of different fabrics to create exciting environments. Her job was to persuade the audience that they could go back in time, creating a new world they could completely believe in.

 • As the Phantom and Christine enter the Phantom’s underground home, hundreds of candles rise up from the ground, through tiny trap doors in the stage floor.

Including the many doors for the candles, there are a total of 184 trap doors in the floor of the stage set.

The Phantom’s obsession with hidden doors earned him the nickname, “The Trap Door Lover.”

How many trap doors will YOU be able to spot when we see the show?

9.         Today’s Phantom Fun Facts:

•         The Phantom of the Opera is really a musical about the theater and all its secrets, grandeur, glamour and hard work.

•         The Phantom’s story takes us backstage, behind the scenes, behind the ‘mask’ of the theater.

•         It allows us a glimpse of how the illusion of the theater is created , but the story behind the musical is an adventure of determination, talent and risk that the author, Leroux himself would have liked to be a part of.

It is not a simple horror story but a heartbreaking tale of unrequited love, meaning unreturned love.

In 1858, the Emperor Napoleon III of France gave an order that a building dedicated to the art of Opera be built in Paris. The new Opera House was to be the envy of all the world. 700 architects competed to create the theater, but Charles Garnier, a relatively unknown young man, won!

THIS is the opera house that Phantom of the Opera is based on. It’s a REAL building in Paris, France!
