We are following "M" day Schedule

Please do not park in numbered spots.  Parking is available on the blacktop playground, located on the corner of Davis Avenue and Thomas Place, all of the designated parking spaces about the building, as well as the streets surrounding the school.  Car-pooling will also be very helpful.  The PTA will supply refreshments during the lunch periods.

The White Plains Mathematics Department is pleased to announce that we will be piloting Glencoe Math for the second half of the school year.  Each student in grades 6-8, with the exception of Algebra*, has been provided a Glencoe Math textbook to support learning.  Students will also be provided a unique username and password in order to access Glencoe Math online resources.  We encourage you to use these resources and the guidelines below to support your child in his or her study of mathematics:

  • Know what concepts are important for your kids based on their grade level and spend time working on those concepts
  • Be aware of what concepts your child struggled with last year and support your child in those challenge areas moving forward
  • Help your child know and memorize basic math facts. Ask your child to “do the math” that pops up in daily life
  • Talk to your children about their math homework and ask them to teach you new concepts. Help them figure out ways to explain their thinking
  • Provide time every day for your child to work on math at home

If you have any questions, please contact Greg Gorman, the Coordinator for K-12 Mathematics at 914 422 2152  *students in Algebra have had use of a textbook since the start of the school year.
