Announcements for Thursday, November 20 D-Day


 

1.          Lunch today-                      turkey nachos

 

2.         Global Ambassador meeting today -Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Tumas

 

3.         Girls’ basketball this week today and tomorrow

 

4.         Attention all boys interested in playing basketball with Mr. Razzak- please see him starting today in room 311 to sign up.  There is a limit, so sign up early.

 

5.         From the library--There will be NO LUNCH PASSES on Friday!!! 

 

6.         If any child is interested in skiing or snowboarding this winter, please contact White Plains Adventure Camp or pick up a registration flyer at the main office.

 

7.         Yearbooks will be on sale starting Tuesday, December 2nd until Tuesday December 23rd in the cafeteria. They are $25 each and only check will be accepted. Checks need to be made out to WPMS. Pre-ordering a book now means you will get a book in June.

 

8.         Do you want to design this year’s yearbook cover? If so, submit an original drawing to Ms. Flynn in room 110 by December 19th. The requirements for the drawing are: a tiger, Eastview, 2014-2015 and use only orange, white and black.

 

9.         Anyone who attended the first yearbook meeting needs to stop by and see Ms. Flynn by Friday.

 

10.     The S.O Thanksgiving drive is starting today.  We will be collecting for the Soup Kitchen in White Plains.  All food needs to be brought in by Monday- November 24.  The team who brings in the most items will receive a prize.

Team A- Boxed Mashed Potatoes

Team B- Boxed Stuffing

Team C- Canned Vegetables

Team D- Canned Gravy

 

11.     The S.O. has Adopted A Soldier on behalf of the Eastview school.  Our soldier’s name is Todd Lawrence.  He is part of an 18 man fire squad stationed in Africa.  We will be collecting items not only for Todd but for the entire squad.  Please bring items below to the main office or Mrs. Pastore now through December 5.  Last year the S.O. collected 6 huge boxes to send to our soldier- Bryce.  Let’s try to beat this record.                                            Items needed: Twin bedding- including sheets and pillowcases, Keurig coffee, tea and hot chocolate pods, Boxes of individual packets of sugar, Powdered creamers- preferably individual packets, Cliff Bars, Protein Bars, Playing Cards, Card games- such as LRC, Uno, Balls- such as footballs, soccer balls, basketballs(preferably deflated), Shampoo and Conditioner, Toothpaste and toothbrushes, Body Soap

 

   The Community Service has collected 55 backpacks for the Midnight Run thus far.  Our goal is 100 backpacks.  In order to achieve this goal we need your help.  Any old backpack you have laying around your house will be fine.  Please bring them to the box outside the main office or room 334.  Just imagine those happy people using their new backpacks.  Remember you can make a difference in someone else’s life.

4.         All TEAM A & B Band members are reminded that their Honor Roll Dress Rehearsal will take place on MONDAY during periods 4 & 5. Please remember your instruments on Monday!!! Ms. Mazziotti

10.     Congratulations and good luck to the following 12 BAND members who will be auditioning for the All-County Band tomorrow morning at the Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School. Ms. Mazziotti will be working in the warm-up room from 8-10 AM, so be sure to stop by if you have any questions.
