Ü The White Plains Public Library offers free after-school homework help from a White Plains “Teacher-in-the-Library” for children through grade 6 in the the Children’s Library. Drop in on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays 4 to 6 p.m. when school is in session (excluding school vacations). For more information, call the Children’s Library at 422-1476.

The live Online Tutor @ the Library program is available for students in grades 4-12, who can use this service daily from 2 p.m. until closing for online tutoring session on computers in the Library. White Plains residents can connect to homework help from home by logging onto the library web site at http://www.tutor.com/whiteplains/. Have your library card number handy. Help is available in math, science, social studies and English. The Online Tutor can also be accessed from the White Plains Youth Bureau from 3:00 – 8:30, Monday through Friday in their computer lab at 11 Amherst Place, 422-1378.
Order free educational publications from the U.S. Department of Education such as Homework Tips For Parents, Reading Tips for Parents, and Helping Your Child Succeed in School (all available in both English and Spanish).
