Ü High School Program:

The White Plains High School Extended Day Program offers students the opportunity to participate in the following after-school programs:

Skill-based courses that support the subjects they study during the day.

  • Structured class sessions with opportunities for individualized mini and whole class instruction, which highlight topics students have yet to master.

 

These two hour after-school programs will be offered at the high school and will feature subjects and specific courses which are part of the instructional day. Courses will be taught by high school staff and will highlight skills, strategies and instructional support geared at providing students with increased mastery and competence. Make-up labs and SAT prep courses will be also be available. Busing will be available in front of the school at 5:00 p.m. to the Slater Center and Galleria, free of charge for students attending program.


Session I: November 17, 2008 - January 22, 2009

Session II - February 9, 2009 - June 4, 2009

  • Math Study Center: Staffed by high school math teachers, the Math Study Center is open to students who need extra help in mathematics. Click here for 2008-09 Study Center hours.

  • Media Center: The high school media center is open on school days from 7:15 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Hours are extended and include weekend hours during exam periods. Exact dates and times will be posted at the high school prior to exams. For more information, call 422-2173.

  • National Honor Society Tutoring Program: Peer tutoring is available through the National Honor Society in all academic subject areas. Those interested should sign up in Room C-106 and will be paired with a student mentor. Tutoring will take place in the high school media center at a mutually agreed upon time (e.g. during a study hall or after school). There is no fee for tutoring that takes place during the school day. If tutoring is scheduled outside of the normal school day, a fee may be required. Click here for a Tutor Request Form.
