Points of Pride

It's time to sign up for the White Plains High School ski trips, with three options in January, February and March. These popular field trips, all to Belleayre Mountain, Highmount, NY, in the Catskills, are open to students in grades 9-12, and students can sign up for more than one of the trips. Beginners and experienced skiers/snowboarders are welcome.snowboarder

Dates of the trips are Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013; Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013; and Saturday, March 2, 2013. Transportation will be by charter bus, which will leave from the side of the Highlands building for each trip at 6:30 a.m. Return time is the same day by 6 p.m. Note that the bus loading area will be on Thomas Place.

Costs for the trip are:

  • $60 for bus transportation and lift tickets
  • $60 for bus, lift ticket and advanced lessons
  • $80 for bus, lift ticket and rentals of skis, boots and poles
  • $80 for bus, lift ticket and snowboard/boots
  • $93 for bus, lift ticket, and rental of all equipment (skis or snowboard) including a helmet.
  • $93 for a beginner ski package for students with no previous experience. It includes the bus, a lift ticket to the lower slopes, a beginner lesson and all equipment (skis or snowboard).
Payment in full will reserve a place for you on the trip(s) of your choice. Students will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Checks should be made out to “White Plains Middle School.” There is a $20 charge for cancellations and no cancellation refunds will be given with fewer than seven days' prior notice.

ALL STUDENTS MUST SKI OR SNOWBOARD WITH A HELMET. No student will be allowed on the bus without a helmet or proof of a helmet rental agreement.
